New  for 2015 is the revamped Military Rifle and Military Carbine matches, scheduled for the 2nd Sunday of each month with the carbine matches occurring on the odd months and the rifle matches occurring on the even months.

The biggest change for the rifle match is the expansion of the allowable firearms.  Prior to 2015 the rifle matches were centered around the M1 Garand and bolt action vintage military rifles like the 03A3.  But now most rifles are allowed as long as they fall into 1 of 2 classes described below:

Vintage Class includes wood stocked, iron sighted rifles like the Garand, M1A and vintage WWI and WWII bolt action rifles.

Modern Class includes AR’s, modern bolt actions, match rifles and any rifle with a scope or dot sight. The rifles do need to have either a detachable magazine or the ability to load with stripper clips in order to be able to complete the rapid fire sequences in the required time.
