If you do not have a current card go to https://unitedsportsmen.com/waiver/ for more information\, to watch the videos and take the online quiz prior to the class. We can issue current waiver cards at the class if you have completed the online portion.\n\nAbout Steel Challenge \nSteel Challenge is a speed shooting competition that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes; small circular\, large circular and square targets.  Competitors are scored by the time it takes them to complete each stage\, and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time. \nOur matches have 5 stages with 5 steel targets on each.  Each competitor shoots each stage five times\, with their slowest run dropped\, excluding the stage “Outer Limits” where only four runs are shot and the top three counted.  The counting times are totaled for their stage score\, and the five stage scores are added together to establish the competitor’s match score. \nFor each run\, one hit per target is required\, with an unlimited number of rounds permitted.  The last target to be shot is known as the “stop plate”\, which stops the timer. All primary target hits made after the stop plate has been struck\, will be scored with a 3-second penalty each. The maximum time permitted for a run is 30 seconds and a competitor will be stopped and asked to reload if they reach the 30-second limit.

DESCRIPTION:All shooters must pass the orientation class in order to become certified to shoot on the Action Pistol Range. \n\nShooters are taught range requirements and safety and given an introduction into the games and their rules that are played at the Action Pistol Range.\nAfter the conclusion of the orientation class\, new participants are required to compete in the NEXT Steel Challenge Match (the following Sunday) and complete this match without disqualification.\nThe orientation class is not for brand new shooters/gun owners.  Participants shall be familiar with their guns and equipment and be able to demonstrate a minimum level of proficiency with it.  It is recommended that participants spend some time at a public range practicing and getting familiar with their guns and their shooting prior to taking this orientation class.  The orientation class is not\, nor is it intended to be\, training of any sort. It is merely meant to show new shooters the Action Pistol Range rules and requirements and to introduce the new shooters to the types of games played on the Action Pistol Range.\nBring a lunch or snack! SUMMARY:.22 Silhouette Shoot
DESCRIPTION:DETAILS  \n\nSilhouette Event- 4th sunday  from 9 – noon on the MPR for rimfire silhouette.  Members of all 5 clubs are welcome.   Diablo  requested a portion of the MPR (  8  positions).   We  operate concurrently with the usual USI public shoot for 2 hrs from 10 to 12.     Both the public and the match break and check targets at the direction of the CRSO.Fees are $7 for members and $13 for invited guests.  $3 go to USI for each shooter. Fees are collected at the MPR\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\nI call the Silhouettes in the traditional Spanish\, avoiding confusion with the public shooters.\n\nSilhouette shooters are called to the bench\, guns pointed downrange\, flags inserted.  After approaching the bench\, firearms can not be touched until prompted for the live fire.\n\nUpon command\, shooters fire for 2 min.  After 2 banks of animals\, they return the guns to the rack\, flags inserted.\n\nThere is no gun handling except for the actual 10 shots per relay.   \n\n\nThis is a reoccurring event every month- we intend to host this match barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment.
