DESCRIPTION:22 Rimfire and Air guns only- Silhouette target shooting at the MPR. \nOffhand/Standing shooting at Metal Animal silhouettes with rifles or pistols\, open or scoped sights allowed. \nBenches are available during this practice period every Wednesday \nMembers of all 5 clubs are welcome.\n Fees are collected at the Multi Purpose Range\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nThe MPR is the building on the right hand side as you pass the Public Range\, but before the Impalement Arts Range.\nLook for the red MPR flag on the flag post- that’s us!\n\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\n\nA silhouette is a steel profile of an animal (chicken\, pig\, turkey\, or ram) standing on a pedestal. The object of the game is to knock as many silhouettes as possible off the stand\, shooting one round at each silhouette. It is a very simple competition\, with very simple scoring: Knocking an animal off its stand counts as a hit.\n\nAlthough silhouette is an easy game to learn\, it is not an easy game to master. The animals are rather small and the distances can reach out a bit; you must shoot offhand (standing); a moderate breeze can move a bullet or a pellet the width of an animal; your concentration becomes more difficult to hold as you knock down five in a row or with a close miss.  Silhouette is an endless challenge that makes you a better shooter!\nThis is a reoccurring event every Week- we intend to host this practice barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment. DESCRIPTION:DETAILS  \n\nSilhouette Event- 4th sunday  from 9 – noon on the MPR for rimfire silhouette.  Members of all 5 clubs are welcome.   Diablo  requested a portion of the MPR (  8  positions).   We  operate concurrently with the usual USI public shoot for 2 hrs from 10 to 12.     Both the public and the match break and check targets at the direction of the CRSO.Fees are $7 for members and $13 for invited guests.  $3 go to USI for each shooter. Fees are collected at the MPR\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\nI call the Silhouettes in the traditional Spanish\, avoiding confusion with the public shooters.\n\nSilhouette shooters are called to the bench\, guns pointed downrange\, flags inserted.  After approaching the bench\, firearms can not be touched until prompted for the live fire.\n\nUpon command\, shooters fire for 2 min.  After 2 banks of animals\, they return the guns to the rack\, flags inserted.\n\nThere is no gun handling except for the actual 10 shots per relay.   \n\n\nThis is a reoccurring event every month- we intend to host this match barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment. The program is funded and operated by the Diablo Rod & Gun Club (DR&G). \n“California Musketeer’s” shotgun program is open to all youth between the ages of ten (10) and twenty (20) years of age\, but children and grandchildren of club members receive shot shell furnished by the club. DESCRIPTION:22 Rimfire and Air guns only- Silhouette target shooting at the MPR. \nOffhand/Standing shooting at Metal Animal silhouettes with rifles or pistols\, open or scoped sights allowed. \nBenches are available during this practice period every Wednesday \nMembers of all 5 clubs are welcome.\n Fees are collected at the Multi Purpose Range\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nThe MPR is the building on the right hand side as you pass the Public Range\, but before the Impalement Arts Range.\nLook for the red MPR flag on the flag post- that’s us!\n\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\n\nA silhouette is a steel profile of an animal (chicken\, pig\, turkey\, or ram) standing on a pedestal. The object of the game is to knock as many silhouettes as possible off the stand\, shooting one round at each silhouette. It is a very simple competition\, with very simple scoring: Knocking an animal off its stand counts as a hit.\n\nAlthough silhouette is an easy game to learn\, it is not an easy game to master. The animals are rather small and the distances can reach out a bit; you must shoot offhand (standing); a moderate breeze can move a bullet or a pellet the width of an animal; your concentration becomes more difficult to hold as you knock down five in a row or with a close miss.  Silhouette is an endless challenge that makes you a better shooter!\nThis is a reoccurring event every Week- we intend to host this practice barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment. SUMMARY:Action Pistol Orientation Class
DESCRIPTION:All shooters must pass the orientation class in order to become certified to shoot on the Action Pistol Range. \n\nShooters are taught range requirements and safety and given an introduction into the games and their rules that are played at the Action Pistol Range.\nAfter the conclusion of the orientation class\, new participants are required to compete in the NEXT Steel Challenge Match (the following Sunday) and complete this match without disqualification.\nThe orientation class is not for brand new shooters/gun owners.  Participants shall be familiar with their guns and equipment and be able to demonstrate a minimum level of proficiency with it.  It is recommended that participants spend some time at a public range practicing and getting familiar with their guns and their shooting prior to taking this orientation class.  The orientation class is not\, nor is it intended to be\, training of any sort. It is merely meant to show new shooters the Action Pistol Range rules and requirements and to introduce the new shooters to the types of games played on the Action Pistol Range.\nBring a lunch or snack! DESCRIPTION:To get involved you don’t need a DGRC or NRL22 membership – while a DGRC membership will save you on Range fees it’s not required. The NRL22 membership is only required if you want to report your score up to the National Org level because you’re vying to go to the big national level matches.\nIn terms of getting started\, you can roll with a 10/22 (there are some specific safety things that we will go over with regards to a semi-auto)…you just need to have a good scope (preferably with a X-mas Tree Reticle) and a detachable bi-pod.\nLet me know if you have any further questions! I don’t normally make it to practices due to family commitments but I’m trying to get to this one so perhaps I’ll see you there?\n\n\n1st Saturday of the month  for the NRL22 practice sessions –\nLocated at the MPR\n NRLPractice sessions runs from 9am-12pm and is open to anyone who wants to try NRL22-style shooting — If you are new\, please speak to the Practice Leader/RSO about how to shoot safely\n$5 for members with the  USI VIP card\n$10 for members without the USI VIP card\n$15 for public (non-member)

DESCRIPTION:Fun Airgun AND .22 LR from NOON ONWARD…  session at the MPR- look for the big red flag on the pole that says “MPR”- that’s us! \nOpen to public\, airguns .30 cal and below AND .22 LR. Benches available\, targets and stands\, 200 yard range. DESCRIPTION:This is the Diablo Rod & Gun Monthly Membership Meeting. This is traditionally a business meeting where club business is cared for. Activity chairs are normally present to give updates on their activities. New business is announced and the club President give his monthly update at this meeting. \nThis meeting is the place to find out all of the relevant information on any activities the club sponsors\, renew or sign up for membership and other important club functions. \nNew members are highly encouraged to attend a few meetings to learn the ins and outs of the club and its activities. The club is always looking for people interested in giving back to the club by helping or heading an activity. If you are interested or know of an activity you would like to see\, please attend a meeting and get with the activity chair in question of become one yourself!

DESCRIPTION:I’d like to encourage every member of the Diablo Rod & Gun Club to come out and vote on June 6th\, 7:30pm at the USI Club House.\n \nI’m asking everyone to make the attempt in coming out and seeing what there is to being a club member of Diablo Rod & Gun Club. Its benefits\, its discounts\, its activities and its community outreach and enrichment that it does on a monthly basis.\n \nMany folks miss out on some of the benefits of YOUR membership. Come to the members meeting and find out what they/we are doing\, what we provide and give us suggestions on what you want to see with YOUR club. The leadership team is here to serve the membership as best it can and the best way is collaborating with its membership at these meetings. Listening to its membership and acting on that feedback and reporting results of those endeavors taken.\n \nDiablo Rod & Gun will be hosting an Election Dinner at the next members meeting. The menu is still being decided but fear not\, it will be tasty and it will be delicious… oh and catered\, because who the heck wants to serve food and then clean up?! Plenty of food… Plenty of drink both unleaded and leaded.\n \nThere will also be free shooting (pre-meeting) at:\nSkeet – Limited Space/Fields\n5 Stand – Limited Space\nTrap\nMulti-Purpose\n \nStay tuned for more detail on the hours as all of the shooting is staffed by volunteers and we need to make sure we have enough qualified people.\n \nIf you are coming\, please fill out the RSVP so that we can get a head count on our number and be prepared we need give those numbers to the caterer. \n \nIf you are particularly fond of cooking a dish\, Think your deviled eggs are second to none?\, Potato salad is to die for?\, Brownies or cookies that melt in your mouth?  Prove it!..
