DESCRIPTION:To get involved you don’t need a DGRC or NRL22 membership – while a DGRC membership will save you on Range fees it’s not required. The NRL22 membership is only required if you want to report your score up to the National Org level because you’re vying to go to the big national level matches.\nIn terms of getting started\, you can roll with a 10/22 (there are some specific safety things that we will go over with regards to a semi-auto)…you just need to have a good scope (preferably with a X-mas Tree Reticle) and a detachable bi-pod.\nLet me know if you have any further questions! I don’t normally make it to practices due to family commitments but I’m trying to get to this one so perhaps I’ll see you there?\n \n \n1st Saturday of the month  for the NRL22 practice sessions – \nLocated at the MPR \n NRLPractice sessions runs from 9am-12pm and is open to anyone who wants to try NRL22-style shooting — If you are new\, please speak to the Practice Leader/RSO about how to shoot safely\n$5 for members with the  USI VIP card \n$10 for members without the USI VIP card \n$15 for public (non-member)

If you do not have a current card go to https://unitedsportsmen.com/waiver/ for more information\, to watch the videos and take the online quiz prior to the class. We can issue current waiver cards at the class if you have completed the online portion.\n\nAbout Steel Challenge \nSteel Challenge is a speed shooting competition that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes; small circular\, large circular and square targets.  Competitors are scored by the time it takes them to complete each stage\, and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time. \nOur matches have 5 stages with 5 steel targets on each.  Each competitor shoots each stage five times\, with their slowest run dropped\, excluding the stage “Outer Limits” where only four runs are shot and the top three counted.  The counting times are totaled for their stage score\, and the five stage scores are added together to establish the competitor’s match score. \nFor each run\, one hit per target is required\, with an unlimited number of rounds permitted.  The last target to be shot is known as the “stop plate”\, which stops the timer. All primary target hits made after the stop plate has been struck\, will be scored with a 3-second penalty each. The maximum time permitted for a run is 30 seconds and a competitor will be stopped and asked to reload if they reach the 30-second limit.
