DESCRIPTION:To get involved you don’t need a DGRC or NRL22 membership – while a DGRC membership will save you on Range fees it’s not required. The NRL22 membership is only required if you want to report your score up to the National Org level because you’re vying to go to the big national level matches.\nIn terms of getting started\, you can roll with a 10/22 (there are some specific safety things that we will go over with regards to a semi-auto)…you just need to have a good scope (preferably with a X-mas Tree Reticle) and a detachable bi-pod.\nLet me know if you have any further questions! I don’t normally make it to practices due to family commitments but I’m trying to get to this one so perhaps I’ll see you there?\n\n\n1st Saturday of the month  for the NRL22 practice sessions –\nLocated at the MPR\n NRLPractice sessions runs from 9am-12pm and is open to anyone who wants to try NRL22-style shooting — If you are new\, please speak to the Practice Leader/RSO about how to shoot safely\n$5 for members with the  USI VIP card\n$10 for members without the USI VIP card\n$15 for public (non-member)

DESCRIPTION:22 Rimfire and Air guns only- Silhouette target shooting at the MPR. \nOffhand/Standing shooting at Metal Animal silhouettes with rifles or pistols\, open or scoped sights allowed. \nBenches are available during this practice period every Wednesday \nMembers of all 5 clubs are welcome.\n Fees are collected at the Multi Purpose Range\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nThe MPR is the building on the right hand side as you pass the Public Range\, but before the Impalement Arts Range.\nLook for the red MPR flag on the flag post- that’s us!\n\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\n\nA silhouette is a steel profile of an animal (chicken\, pig\, turkey\, or ram) standing on a pedestal. The object of the game is to knock as many silhouettes as possible off the stand\, shooting one round at each silhouette. It is a very simple competition\, with very simple scoring: Knocking an animal off its stand counts as a hit.\n\nAlthough silhouette is an easy game to learn\, it is not an easy game to master. The animals are rather small and the distances can reach out a bit; you must shoot offhand (standing); a moderate breeze can move a bullet or a pellet the width of an animal; your concentration becomes more difficult to hold as you knock down five in a row or with a close miss.  Silhouette is an endless challenge that makes you a better shooter!\nThis is a reoccurring event every Week- we intend to host this practice barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment. SUMMARY:.22 Silhouette Match
DESCRIPTION:DETAILS  \n\nSilhouette Event- 2nd Saturday  from 9 – noon on the MPR for rimfire silhouette.  Members of all 5 clubs are welcome.   Diablo  requested a portion of the MPR (  8  positions).   We  operate concurrently with the usual USI public shoot for 2 hrs from 10 to 12.     Both the public and the match break and check targets at the direction of the CRSO.Fees are $7 for members and $13 for invited guests.  $3 go to USI for each shooter. Fees are collected at the MPR\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\nI call the Silhouettes in the traditional Spanish\, avoiding confusion with the public shooters.\n\nSilhouette shooters are called to the bench\, guns pointed downrange\, flags inserted.  After approaching the bench\, firearms can not be touched until prompted for the live fire.\n\nUpon command\, shooters fire for 2 min.  After 2 banks of animals\, they return the guns to the rack\, flags inserted.\n\nThere is no gun handling except for the actual 10 shots per relay.   \n\n\nThis is a reoccurring event every month- we intend to host this match barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment. If you do not have a current card go to https://unitedsportsmen.com/waiver/ for more information\, to watch the videos and take the online quiz prior to the class. We can issue current waiver cards at the class if you have completed the online portion.\n\nAbout Steel Challenge \nSteel Challenge is a speed shooting competition that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes; small circular\, large circular and square targets.  Competitors are scored by the time it takes them to complete each stage\, and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time. \nOur matches have 5 stages with 5 steel targets on each.  Each competitor shoots each stage five times\, with their slowest run dropped\, excluding the stage “Outer Limits” where only four runs are shot and the top three counted.  The counting times are totaled for their stage score\, and the five stage scores are added together to establish the competitor’s match score. \nFor each run\, one hit per target is required\, with an unlimited number of rounds permitted.  The last target to be shot is known as the “stop plate”\, which stops the timer. All primary target hits made after the stop plate has been struck\, will be scored with a 3-second penalty each. The maximum time permitted for a run is 30 seconds and a competitor will be stopped and asked to reload if they reach the 30-second limit.

DESCRIPTION:22 Rimfire and Air guns only- Silhouette target shooting at the MPR. \nOffhand/Standing shooting at Metal Animal silhouettes with rifles or pistols\, open or scoped sights allowed. \nBenches are available during this practice period every Wednesday \nMembers of all 5 clubs are welcome.\n Fees are collected at the Multi Purpose Range\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nThe MPR is the building on the right hand side as you pass the Public Range\, but before the Impalement Arts Range.\nLook for the red MPR flag on the flag post- that’s us!\n\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\n\nA silhouette is a steel profile of an animal (chicken\, pig\, turkey\, or ram) standing on a pedestal. The object of the game is to knock as many silhouettes as possible off the stand\, shooting one round at each silhouette. It is a very simple competition\, with very simple scoring: Knocking an animal off its stand counts as a hit.\n\nAlthough silhouette is an easy game to learn\, it is not an easy game to master. The animals are rather small and the distances can reach out a bit; you must shoot offhand (standing); a moderate breeze can move a bullet or a pellet the width of an animal; your concentration becomes more difficult to hold as you knock down five in a row or with a close miss.  Silhouette is an endless challenge that makes you a better shooter!\nThis is a reoccurring event every Week- we intend to host this practice barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment. SUMMARY:Airgun - Field Target
DESCRIPTION:Airgun Field Target is an outdoor venue\, utilizing precision high-power air rifles (sometimes air pistols). The reactionary\, steel animal targets are designed to fall only when the pellet hits the “Kill Zone”\, requiring target-rifle accuracy. Targets are then re-set with a cord from the shooting position. The distance to the targets varies and is unknown\, adding an element of range-finding ability (similar to hunting in the field). All types of air rifles may be used\, up to .22 cal\,  (but NO BB’s) and we do have some loaners available. Junior shooters are welcome and as always\, they shoot FREE when accompanied by an adult club member. \nAirguns have grown up…….Give it a try ! We shoot in all weather\, except for the atypical Lightning storm.

The waiver is located at https://unitedsportsmen.com/waiver/ \nPlease arrive early so we can start on time. On-site Registration opens at 8:00 AM and closes at 8:30 AM.  Shooters’ meeting at 8:55 AM.
