DESCRIPTION:22 Rimfire and Air guns only- Silhouette target shooting at the MPR. \nOffhand/Standing shooting at Metal Animal silhouettes with rifles or pistols\, open or scoped sights allowed. \nBenches are available during this practice period every Wednesday \nMembers of all 5 clubs are welcome.\n Fees are collected at the Multi Purpose Range\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nThe MPR is the building on the right hand side as you pass the Public Range\, but before the Impalement Arts Range.\nLook for the red MPR flag on the flag post- that’s us!\n\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\n\nA silhouette is a steel profile of an animal (chicken\, pig\, turkey\, or ram) standing on a pedestal. The object of the game is to knock as many silhouettes as possible off the stand\, shooting one round at each silhouette. It is a very simple competition\, with very simple scoring: Knocking an animal off its stand counts as a hit.\n\nAlthough silhouette is an easy game to learn\, it is not an easy game to master. The animals are rather small and the distances can reach out a bit; you must shoot offhand (standing); a moderate breeze can move a bullet or a pellet the width of an animal; your concentration becomes more difficult to hold as you knock down five in a row or with a close miss.  Silhouette is an endless challenge that makes you a better shooter!\nThis is a reoccurring event every Week- we intend to host this practice barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment. SUMMARY:Action Pistol Orientation Class
DESCRIPTION:All shooters must pass the orientation class in order to become certified to shoot on the Action Pistol Range. \n\nShooters are taught range requirements and safety and given an introduction into the games and their rules that are played at the Action Pistol Range.\nAfter the conclusion of the orientation class\, new participants are required to compete in the NEXT Steel Challenge Match (the following Sunday) and complete this match without disqualification.\nThe orientation class is not for brand new shooters/gun owners.  Participants shall be familiar with their guns and equipment and be able to demonstrate a minimum level of proficiency with it.  It is recommended that participants spend some time at a public range practicing and getting familiar with their guns and their shooting prior to taking this orientation class.  The orientation class is not\, nor is it intended to be\, training of any sort. It is merely meant to show new shooters the Action Pistol Range rules and requirements and to introduce the new shooters to the types of games played on the Action Pistol Range.\nBring a lunch or snack! DESCRIPTION:To get involved you don’t need a DGRC or NRL22 membership – while a DGRC membership will save you on Range fees it’s not required. The NRL22 membership is only required if you want to report your score up to the National Org level because you’re vying to go to the big national level matches.\nIn terms of getting started\, you can roll with a 10/22 (there are some specific safety things that we will go over with regards to a semi-auto)…you just need to have a good scope (preferably with a X-mas Tree Reticle) and a detachable bi-pod.\nLet me know if you have any further questions! I don’t normally make it to practices due to family commitments but I’m trying to get to this one so perhaps I’ll see you there?\n\n\n1st Saturday of the month  for the NRL22 practice sessions –\nLocated at the MPR\n NRLPractice sessions runs from 9am-12pm and is open to anyone who wants to try NRL22-style shooting — If you are new\, please speak to the Practice Leader/RSO about how to shoot safely\n$5 for members with the  USI VIP card\n$10 for members without the USI VIP card\n$15 for public (non-member)

DESCRIPTION:22 Rimfire and Air guns only- Silhouette target shooting at the MPR. \nOffhand/Standing shooting at Metal Animal silhouettes with rifles or pistols\, open or scoped sights allowed. \nBenches are available during this practice period every Wednesday \nMembers of all 5 clubs are welcome.\n Fees are collected at the Multi Purpose Range\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nThe MPR is the building on the right hand side as you pass the Public Range\, but before the Impalement Arts Range.\nLook for the red MPR flag on the flag post- that’s us!\n\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\n\nA silhouette is a steel profile of an animal (chicken\, pig\, turkey\, or ram) standing on a pedestal. The object of the game is to knock as many silhouettes as possible off the stand\, shooting one round at each silhouette. It is a very simple competition\, with very simple scoring: Knocking an animal off its stand counts as a hit.\n\nAlthough silhouette is an easy game to learn\, it is not an easy game to master. The animals are rather small and the distances can reach out a bit; you must shoot offhand (standing); a moderate breeze can move a bullet or a pellet the width of an animal; your concentration becomes more difficult to hold as you knock down five in a row or with a close miss.  Silhouette is an endless challenge that makes you a better shooter!\nThis is a reoccurring event every Week- we intend to host this practice barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment. SUMMARY:10 Meter Indoor Airgun Match
DESCRIPTION:The Airgun League runs from January through May. The shoots are on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each of those months with events for rifle and pistol. \nAll shooting is done offhand (standing) at paper targets. The format is “shoulder to shoulder”\, without point dividers\, so some shooting experience is required. There is no coaching or spotting (by another person for the shooter) permitted during the “record” firing periods. \n\nAll shoots are held in the clubhouse and there are club guns available for those of you who don’t have their own.\nJuniors (ages 8 to 18) shoot free\, but those over 16 shoot in the adult classifications.\nCompetition is by classification (shooting against other shooters in your class) except for the high overall scores. A total of twenty (20) shots are fired for record over the course of two ten-minute record firing periods. DESCRIPTION:DETAILS  \n\nSilhouette Event- 2nd Saturday  from 9 – noon on the MPR for rimfire silhouette.  Members of all 5 clubs are welcome.   Diablo  requested a portion of the MPR (  8  positions).   We  operate concurrently with the usual USI public shoot for 2 hrs from 10 to 12.     Both the public and the match break and check targets at the direction of the CRSO.Fees are $7 for members and $13 for invited guests.  $3 go to USI for each shooter. Fees are collected at the MPR\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\nI call the Silhouettes in the traditional Spanish\, avoiding confusion with the public shooters.\n\nSilhouette shooters are called to the bench\, guns pointed downrange\, flags inserted.  After approaching the bench\, firearms can not be touched until prompted for the live fire.\n\nUpon command\, shooters fire for 2 min.  After 2 banks of animals\, they return the guns to the rack\, flags inserted.\n\nThere is no gun handling except for the actual 10 shots per relay.   \n\n\nThis is a reoccurring event every month- we intend to host this match barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment. We can issue current waiver cards at the class if you have completed the online portion.\n\nAbout Steel Challenge \nSteel Challenge is a speed shooting competition that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes; small circular\, large circular and square targets.  Competitors are scored by the time it takes them to complete each stage\, and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time. \nOur matches have 5 stages with 5 steel targets on each.  Each competitor shoots each stage five times\, with their slowest run dropped\, excluding the stage “Outer Limits” where only four runs are shot and the top three counted.  The counting times are totaled for their stage score\, and the five stage scores are added together to establish the competitor’s match score. \nFor each run\, one hit per target is required\, with an unlimited number of rounds permitted.  The last target to be shot is known as the “stop plate”\, which stops the timer. All primary target hits made after the stop plate has been struck\, will be scored with a 3-second penalty each. The maximum time permitted for a run is 30 seconds and a competitor will be stopped and asked to reload if they reach the 30-second limit.

DESCRIPTION:22 Rimfire and Air guns only- Silhouette target shooting at the MPR. \nOffhand/Standing shooting at Metal Animal silhouettes with rifles or pistols\, open or scoped sights allowed. \nBenches are available during this practice period every Wednesday \nMembers of all 5 clubs are welcome.\n Fees are collected at the Multi Purpose Range\, not at the USI Clubhouse .\nThe MPR is the building on the right hand side as you pass the Public Range\, but before the Impalement Arts Range.\nLook for the red MPR flag on the flag post- that’s us!\n\nUSI waiver and a Blue Card issued from the USI clubhouse required prior to the match- there is no charge to these one time processes.\n\nA silhouette is a steel profile of an animal (chicken\, pig\, turkey\, or ram) standing on a pedestal. The object of the game is to knock as many silhouettes as possible off the stand\, shooting one round at each silhouette. It is a very simple competition\, with very simple scoring: Knocking an animal off its stand counts as a hit.\n\nAlthough silhouette is an easy game to learn\, it is not an easy game to master. The animals are rather small and the distances can reach out a bit; you must shoot offhand (standing); a moderate breeze can move a bullet or a pellet the width of an animal; your concentration becomes more difficult to hold as you knock down five in a row or with a close miss.  Silhouette is an endless challenge that makes you a better shooter!\nThis is a reoccurring event every Week- we intend to host this practice barring weather or extraordinary barriers preventing the event from occurring in a safe environment.
