Children and Grandchildren of\nDiablo members\, who are between the ages of 8 and 18\, may participate in Youth Rifle & Pistol\, and Shotgun activities. Rifle & Pistol use .22 cal. rimfire only and shoot at the Multi-Purpose Range. Ammunition is supplied at the rifle events. Some loaner rifles are available\, but the shooters should provide their own firearms and parents should help out. DESCRIPTION:Schedule \n\nRegistration:  7:45 AM – 8:30 AM\n\nYou may pre-register and pre-pay here:  https://practiscore.com/clubs/diablo-action-pistol\n\n\nMatch:  9:00 AM – 2:00 PM\n\nMatch Fee \n\n$25  ($20 if you have a valid United Sportsmen VIP Access Card)\nWe prefer that you pre-register and pay on Practiscore\, but if registering at match please bring exact change.\n\nPrerequisites \n\nCompetitors must be “Action Pistol Certified” to take part in this match.  To become certified\, see the calendar for orientation classes.\nAll competitors need to bring or have a photo of a current USI waiver range card (“Blue or Green” card) to shoot at the range. If you do not have a current card go to https://unitedsportsmen.com/waiver/ for more information\, to watch the videos and take the online quiz prior to the class. We can issue current waiver cards at the class if you have completed the online portion.\n\nAbout Steel Challenge \nSteel Challenge is a speed shooting competition that consists of eight standardized stages with steel targets in three sizes; small circular\, large circular and square targets.  Competitors are scored by the time it takes them to complete each stage\, and the match winner is the competitor with the lowest overall time. \nOur matches have 5 stages with 5 steel targets on each.  Each competitor shoots each stage five times\, with their slowest run dropped\, excluding the stage “Outer Limits” where only four runs are shot and the top three counted.  The counting times are totaled for their stage score\, and the five stage scores are added together to establish the competitor’s match score. \nFor each run\, one hit per target is required\, with an unlimited number of rounds permitted.  The last target to be shot is known as the “stop plate”\, which stops the timer. All primary target hits made after the stop plate has been struck\, will be scored with a 3-second penalty each. The maximum time permitted for a run is 30 seconds and a competitor will be stopped and asked to reload if they reach the 30-second limit.
