Military Rifle Competitions
Military Rifle. The military rifle match is shot in a CMP style format at 200yds with a shooting sequence of 10 rounds slow fire standing, 10 rounds rapid fire sitting, 10 rounds rapid fire prone and 20 rounds slow fire prone. The match is divided into 2 classes, Vintage and Modern. The Vintage class is for iron-sighted, wood stocked rifles like the Garand, M1A and WW1 and WW2 bolt action rifles. The Modern Class is for AR15s, modern bolt actions, match rifles and anything with a scope or dot sight. Sighters are taken at the start of the match and assistance is given to new shooters with sighting in, the shooting positions and use of the highly recommended sling. Bolt-actions are given extra time during the rapid fire stages so don’t be afraid to bring one. Come out and shoot that dust-collecting war relic that you have in your safe!
