10.23.21 Diablo Match Report –
We great day at the MPR range for our regular sanctioned IR5050 3 card match. We followed it up by a 50-yard one card factory gun match & our first 200 yard .22 benchrest match. The 200-yard match consisted of 10 shots on each of two large targets. Weather was nice. Wind was moderate but challenging as it was not steady and ever changing for the second and third card. Match was well attended with 12 shooters with 2 newcomers. It appears good fun was had by all. Any of us interested in shooting the 200 yard next time would benefit from a 20 MOA rail or shims on the rear scope ring as many scopes did not dial up that much.
Hope to see some of you back next weekend for a fun gun only match.
Main Benchrest Match
- Congratulations to Brett who finished in First Place for the main match with 744 & 36X using his carbon fiber 2500X space gun shot off the integrated bipod he built. Brett Shot a 250 for his first card. This is Brett’s first win using the gun & bipod he made himself on his personal CNC machine. Way to go Brett!! Also, would like to recognize our two new shooters who did amazing for their first time. Margaret shot her Anschutz on sandbags and Dave Austin shot a CZ 452 varmint on a bipod and did great for their first time.
200 Yard match
- Francis won the 200 -Yard match with a 368 out of a possible 400. This was super fun match and definitely requires at least a 20 MOA rail.
Factory Fun Gun Match
- Phil won the fun gun match with a perfect score of 250!! Way to go Phil!
Next match will be Next weekend will be Saturday 11.30.21 @ 8 AM. 3 card 50-yard match. Factory guns only– Any factory .22 LR. No benchrest or benchrest gun allowed. Only bipods, sandbags and rear bag are allowed. Range will open as 7 AM and I will draw benches on Friday. Hopefully you can join for this fun event. Cost is $8 for Diablo Members and $13 for non-members. Winner’s Pool money will be less than usual as we are keeping the cost lower to get more shooters interested to come shoot with their regular .22. Please let me know early if you want to attend as this will most likely be well attended by the regular Diablo shooters. Look for the separate thread where I will post committed shooters & bench assignments.
